Vi La Bianca
Publishing Support (they/them)
Portland, Oregon
In 2019, I set out on sidequest to Austin, Texas, where I accidentally became what I jokingly call a D-list micro-niche internet celebrity. I’d never spoken in front of a camera before, but for the next four years, I hosted weekly broadcasts to thousands of live viewers, gave countless podcast interviews, sat on expert panels, and spoke at conferences. Along the way, I cultivated a vibrant, dedicated, and international audience who financially contributed thousands of dollars every month to these projects.
After returning to the world of books, I realized the publishing industry could also benefit from the content creator model I’d just seen in action. Now I manage publishing strategy and operations for our Author Development Program, teaching aspiring authors how to build organic, loyal reader communities one chapter at a time.
Experience
I have 10+ years of experience in acquisitions editing and book positioning for indie authors and small presses, as well as managing operations and logistics for hybrid publishers and author service providers. I’ve helped publish hundreds of books and journals during my time working with Simon & Schuster UK, Ooligan Press, The Portland Review, Scribe Media, Big Idea to Bestseller, and Sage Publishing.

Josh Orr
Content Support (he/they)
Nashville, Tennessee
I’m a writer, editor, and educator based in Nashville. Over the past 15 years, I’ve crafted stories for prison abolitionists, stand-up comedians, tribal organizations, and a retired Hollywood stuntman on a revenge mission. I love following unique minds into unknown territory. Originally a newspaper journalist, I have infinitely more fun helping people to tell their own stories.
Experience
I have 15+ years of ghostwriting, developmental editing, manuscript consultation, multi-platform storytelling, and content strategy experience for books, web, and hybrid projects.

AJ Henderickson
Editing Support (she/they)
Portland, Oregon
I do words and word-related things. I’ve fixed plot holes, character flaws, and comma splices for hundreds of books, and authors love me because I preemptively save them from internet trolls and I’m not a jerk. When I’m not editing, I’m probably writing or diving into my current fixation or having existential debates with my parrot via his communication board.
Experience
I have 17+ years of developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading experience. I’ve worked on over 300 books for major publishing houses, academic publishers, and indie/hybrid publishers, including Catapult Book Group, Mary Stone Publishing, Oxford University Press, Penguin Random House, Doubleday, Simon & Schuster, Amazon Publishing, Capstone, Forbes Books, Lioncrest, and many others.

Editing Support (he/they)
Boston, Massachusetts
I’m a multidisciplinary graphic designer, social media manager, and artist living and working in Greater Boston. I love creating visual narratives that bring clarity and creativity to every channel. In my free time, I also enjoy sewing & embroidery, medical television dramas, and Pop-Tarts.
Experience
I have 6+ years of graphic design and visual art experience focusing on book design, marketing assets, and brand identities. When not working as a graphic designer and social media manager, I work in paint, fiber/textile, photography, and collage. I’ve showcased my work in numerous exhibitions and galleries since 2018, addressing topics like queer issues, trauma, gender roles/expression, nostalgia, and a lot of cowboys.

Tori Williams Douglass
Marketing Support (she/her)
Portland, Oregon
My mission is to reconnect people to our shared humanity. I’m an educator, podcaster, and storyteller who believes in building compassion, producing material change, and creating a more equitable world. When I’m not hosting podcasts, sitting for news interviews and panel discussions, or speaking at universities and organizations across the Pacific Northwest, you can typically find me exploring new places, cultures, forests, and communities, and hiking trails.
Experience:
I have 7+ years of content marketing, brand promotion, and online community development and fundraising experience across platforms and industries. Since 2018, I’ve built a thriving Patreon community that deals with unlearning racism in a holistic manner through social media fundraising campaigns like #ReparationsFriday and the Pay the Rent Club initiative, which has been able to pay rent for numerous Black and brown families each year.
